As Senior Pastor of Refuge Church, Jason Parks is known for his visionary leadership and his heart to impact North Alabama and the world. Refuge Church started in 2013 with a handful of couples in his living room. Now, Refuge Church has campuses in Huntsville, Athens and Jones Valley. Jason’s authenticity and his ability to communicate in a humorous, dynamic, and practical manner helps people find purpose, live out their dreams and make a positive impact on their community.
Jason has a BS in Communication Arts from the University of North Alabama, a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University, a Master of Divinity from Rockbridge Seminary, and post-graduate doctoral work in Transformational Leadership from Rockbridge Seminary. He is also a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor, a Certified Addictions and Recovery Specialist, and Advanced Certified in Human Behavior.
Jason currently serves on the EMS Advisory Board at Calhoun Community College and as Board Chairman for Refuge Community Center. He is also the founder of Rooms of Refuge and Moments of Refuge, two community partnerships that are changing the way people are cared for in Madison County. In past years, Jason has served his community as a Board Member for the Alzheimer’s Association Mid South Chapter, Alzheimer’s Association Advisory Board President, ALS Association Patient Care Committee, American Red Cross Youth Leadership Advisor, and on the Board of Trustees for ATO UNA Chapter.
Jason has served as the Guest Chaplain for the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC; Alabama House of Representatives; and Tennessee State Senate. He was awarded the Governor’s Medal of Honor by Governor Bob Riley for his service to Alabama’s senior citizens. In addition to service to his local community, Jason has served in impoverished regions of Nicaragua and Haiti.
Drawing on his career in management and marketing, Jason continues to serve as a consultant for local corporations and as an instructor for both Huntsville Bible College and Calhoun Community College.
Jason and his wife, Jessica, have been married for over thirteen years. They have three amazing children.
